The Nigeria Police Force has announced significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to curb crime in Lagos State. Multiple suspects have been arrested for their involvement in murder, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.
Between February 10 , 2025, police operatives carried out several successful operations, leading to key arrests and the recovery of weapons. One notable arrest took place on February 10, when Wisdom Obi, 24, was intercepted at Abule Ado bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. Obi was found with a brownie pistol and 13 rounds of live ammunition hidden inside an MP3 radio.
Additionally, four suspected traffic robbers—Kadir Ibrahim, Ifeanyin John, Oduwole Shola, and Rilwan Olajuwon—were apprehended while attempting to rob passengers of a broken-down vehicle at Ascon White Sand area.
The police have also cautioned citizens to be vigilant, particularly in traffic, as criminals often pose as street traders before striking. In another case, police operatives responded to a murder incident at Falomo Square, Ikoyi, where Okeke Johnchris, 33, allegedly used his vehicle to ram into William Wisdom, inflicting fatal injuries. Okeke has been apprehended and is currently in police custody.
The Nigeria Police Force has reassured Nigerians of its commitment to national security and crime prevention, urging cooperation from the public to maintain law and order.
