Edo State Government has expressed its readiness to improve facilities at the Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) in the 18 local government areas to ensure that the people of the state receive quality, effective and affordable healthcare services.
This was disclosed by the Administrator, office of the First Lady of Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani while celebrating Christmas with mothers of New born babies and patients across hospital in Edo State.
Mrs Anani said Governor Monday Okpebholo is a man that loves Edo people, as his administration prioritizes the welfare of the citizens of the State as such focusing on the Primary Healthcare centers to ensure the people get quality healthcare services when needed.
She said “The Senator Monday Okpebholo led administration is focusing on improving the healthcare facilities in the State particularly the Primary Health Care centers across the 18 local government areas of the state to ensure Edo people enjoy quality, efficient and affordable healthcare services as the welfare of Edo people is the priority of this administration”.
Recall that the governor showed this readiness to invest in healthcare by allocating N63.9 billion to health in the 2025 budget.
He said while presenting the budget proposal to the state House of Assembly that “On healthcare, N 63.9 billion has been earmarked for 2025 fiscal year. We are currently reviewing the Health Sector Initiatives, to ensure that health is accessible and affordable.
With the commitment to increase access to quality healthcare, N1.8 billion has been set aside for Health Insurance”.
