Prince Harry made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Friday to support Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the war with Russia. He arrived in Kyiv via overnight train from Poland, accompanied by representatives from his Invictus Games Foundation, which aids wounded service members. During his visit, Harry met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and around 200 Ukrainian veterans.
Harry discussed ongoing humanitarian efforts and support for veterans with Prime Minister Svyrydenko.
Duke of Sussex emphasized the importance of helping the recovery process for thousands of military personnel injured in the war.
Harry’s foundation is working on new initiatives to support the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers across Ukraine. Harry’s trip coincides with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper’s visit to Ukraine, where she announced new UK sanctions targeting Russia’s oil revenues and military supplies
Harry was invited by Olga Rudneva, founder and CEO of the Superhumans Center in Lviv, which specializes in rehabilitating soldiers with amputated limbs.
Harry previously visited Ukraine in April, meeting war victims in Lviv and highlighting the importance of humanitarian support.
This visit comes after Harry met his father, King Charles III, for the first time in nearly two years during a visit to Britain earlier this week
