REPS  DON OPEN EYE FOR 12 ‘FAKE’ GOVT AGENCIES, 58 BANK ACCOUNTS WEY DEM LINK TO ADEYEMI.

Di House of Representatives don uncover weti dem call one “shocking network” of 12 organisations wey allegedly dey present demself as government agencies, plus about 58 bank accounts wey investigators link to Adeniyi Adeyemi, di person wey bin claim say na Director General of di Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Di House committee wey dey investigate di controversial PFIPC make dis revelation for Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as dem present dem preliminary report about di council and how e enter inside di 2026 Federal Budget Framework.

Di chairman of di committee, Yusuf Gagdi, talk say information wey dem collect from financial and investigative authorities show say Adeyemi identity details connect to around 58 personal, company, organisation and foundation bank accounts.

According to di committee, more than 30 of di accounts appear to dey operate under di names of about nine agencies, companies, foundations and other related bodies.

Gagdi explain say lawmakers dey try find out whether dem create or use some of di organisations to make fake government institutions look genuine, collect money from people, attract investment, get official recognition and government facilities, or convince members of di public to give dem money.

Among di organisations wey di committee mention na FCT Investment Promotion Council, FCT Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership, United Nations Youth Global Foundation and Olubadan of Ibadan Foundation.

Di committee say evidence before dem suggest say Adeyemi fit get direct or indirect connection with more than 12 of such organisations. But di lawmakers still dey verify di exact ownership and relationship between di different bodies.

Di investigation don also raise serious question about whether PFIPC even legally exist for di first place. Gagdi say di committee no find any valid Act wey National Assembly pass, gazetted law, Presidential Executive Order or another lawful document wey establish di council.

Di panel further reveal say evidence from di State House show say President Bola Tinubu no appoint Adeyemi as Director General of PFIPC.

Dem also say di appointment letter wey allegedly carry di authority and signature of President Tinubu Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, na fabricated document.

Because of di evidence, di committee exonerate Gbajabiamila. Dem say documents before di panel show say he take steps to alert security and investigative authorities after concerns come up about di activities of di organisation.

However, di lawmakers say dem investigation never finish. Di committee go continue to check di real legal identity and ownership of di organisations, confirm di exact number of bank accounts, examine money wey enter and comot from di accounts, and identify di people wey dey control or benefit from dem.

Di committee say dem go present more recommendations for di final report after dem don complete all di investigations.
