In a fortunate turn of events, six passengers narrowly avoided a fatal accident in a multiple auto crash that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The incident took place on Wednesday, opposite the OPIC Estate community, in the Isheri Olofin area. Four vehicles were involved in the collision, including an unregistered diesel truck, a Yutong luxury bus with registration number KPP 921 ZW, a Ford bus with registration number EPE 365 YD, and another Ford bus with registration number KGW 13 XA.
According to a police source familiar with the crash, the accident was caused by the driver of the diesel truck. The truck lost control while in motion, veered off course, and collided with the three other vehicles that were stuck in traffic on the road.
Fortunately, all the occupants of the vehicles managed to escape death. However, two passengers sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the Lagos State Emergency Clinic at the Old Tollgate in Ojota, Lagos, for medical treatment. Good Samaritans and police officers in the area played a crucial role in the rescue and transportation of the injured victims.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident and reassured the public that no lives were lost in the crash. She commended the efforts of the police officers in the area who promptly responded to the scene and provided assistance to the injured victims. The two individuals who were injured are currently receiving medical treatment and are said to be responding positively.
The accident occurred as the diesel truck driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and collided with the luxury bus and the other two Ford buses. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to gather more information about the drivers and passengers involved.
