Nobel laureate, Teacher Wole Soyinka, has said nothing will decrease the Isese custom, adding that it has come to remain.
This was as he noticed that Isese had forever been with mankind and would stay forever.
He spread the word about this on Friday during a public trade held at the Kongi’s Reap Craftsmanship Display, Opportunity Way, Lagos State.
Osun priestess Yeye Ajesikemi Olatunji, who planned to celebrate Isese Day on August 20 in Ilorin, Kwara State, was verbally abused and asked by the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Kolapo Gambari Dan, and other Muslim adherents not to commemorate the day. Isese Day was celebrated in states in the South-West.
The Emir’s representative, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, in a proclamation, noticed that there had never been a period in history when what he depicted as “excessive admiration exercises” were completed in the Ilorin Emirate.
Review that a famous Ilorin Isese fan and lobbyist Adegbola Abdulazeez, otherwise called Talolorun (Who is God), who was at the front of the battle for Isese acknowledgment in the state, was captured and kept for supposed slander.
He had since been charged to court for “offending the Emir of Ilorin among different offenses.”
In any case, talking during his show, the Teacher of English Writing, criticized Talolorun’s confinement, adding that no one should have been kept and placed in a prison for issues lining around conviction.
“It transcends religion because it calls to something that is inherent to all sentient beings—those strange advocates of freedom who paradoxically persist in making chains for themselves and their fellow beings.
“Isese makes free. It is a declaration of the aggregate human soul, its encompassing, empathetic convenience of human experience, yet one that endeavors towards the apparently difficult to reach, instinctively felt as a hoisting aspect of one’s material home.
“Isese is a way, not an objective, a seizure yet a quest for what we experience as the inward mission for extreme light. Isese doesn’t close, and neither does it reject. It doesn’t reduce, rather, it amplifies. It trains the local area to embrace, investigate, and change.
“Isese promotes the sanctity of human life and gratitude for it as a foundational consciousness. It disavows the supremacist guarantee of any design of otherworldliness over another. Isese is content with the pursuit of inner serenity, which is the culmination of celebration and its removal, and he does not seek power. All obvious religions realize that festival is an introduction to local area balance,” he said.
Soyinka likewise cautioned Muslim followers whom he (Soyinka) said had gone on a slanderous attack to cease from such campaign.
He emphasized that he has never expressed hatred for any religion and that he only advocates equity, fairness, and justice.
