The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed the electrocution of a suspected vandal who attempted to tamper with a high-voltage transmission tower in Ebonyi State.
According to a statement released on Friday in Abuja by Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, the incident occurred on July 19 at Tower 34 along the Nkalagu–Abakaliki 132kV transmission line. The body of the individual was found hanging from the tower and has since been recovered.
Mrs. Mbah reiterated the company’s repeated warnings about the deadly risks of tampering with power infrastructure, noting that such actions not only endanger lives but also threaten national development.
She urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity around power installations to security agencies or TCN offices across the country.
