Abuja, Nigeria Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the Ogun East lawmaker and former governor of Ogun State, has publicly commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, asserting that Nigeria “is yet to see the best” of the president while acknowledging Tinubu’s influence on his own tenure in office.

Speaking on Wednesday at a high profile event in Abuja marking the public presentation of four books commemorating his 70th birthday, Daniel described Tinubu as a “pragmatic” and intellectually driven leader whose governance style provided valuable ideas and frameworks that informed policy decisions during his 2003 2011 governorship. The event, held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, attracted former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, top government officials, and notable civic figures.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains one of the most pragmatic human beings that I have ever come across. Nigeria is yet to see the best of him. Mr President is a textbook in governance and creative intelligence that many of us read from,” Daniel said, emphasizing that several governance initiatives adopted during his administration were inspired by Tinubu’s approaches.

Tinubu, represented at the ceremony by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, reciprocated praise for Daniel’s public service record. He lauded the former governor’s professional accomplishments and contributions to national development, reaffirming the long-standing political alignment and mutual respect between the two leaders.
