Just ten days after a fatal train accident in the Oshodi area of Lagos, another unidentified man was killed by a moving train in Ikeja on Monday.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that the incident occurred early in the morning. The agency’s response team arrived at the scene and recovered the man’s body, handing it over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit for further action.
The task force in Lagos had recently warned traders against operating near the train tracks, but some have continued despite repeated warnings. The agency has vowed to intensify efforts to arrest those who remain defiant, emphasizing that train tracks are not safe areas for business.
This tragedy serves as another reminder of the ongoing dangers near Lagos’s busy railways.
