The Coordinator of the Ughelli pre-season tournament Onome James says arrangements to stage the 11th edition of the competition in Ughelli, Delta State have started.
Onome James made this revelation in an exclusive chat with the UPC media team. He stated that the 11th Edition of the tournament dedicated to the late veteran sports journalist Prince Anthony Obaseki who passed on would take place from 1st – 7th February 2021.
“We decided and announced during the final of the 10th edition of the tournament that the 11th edition will be dedicated to Late Prince Anthony Obaseki and that is what we have done.”
“Late Prince Obaseki, a veteran sports journalist and also a member of our media team sacrificed and worked tirelessly for the success of this tournament and this is just our little way of honoring him” – Onome stated.
He went further to give details of the upcoming 11th edition of the pre-season tournament.
“Yes, the next edition which is expected to run from 1st – 7th February 2021 will be open to NNL, NLO 1,2,3, Non-league sides, and even Academies who are interested in participating. For any inquiry, please call 07065428262” He concluded
Recall that the 10th edition was hosted in Ughelli Delta State as FC Izam from Jos Plateau State edged Rolly FC from Benin Edo State in the final to emerge champion.
