2027 Elections: Adeleke, Oyetola Close Ranks for Tinubu as Tompolo Unveils 30 Campaign Vehicles in Osun.
Osun State’s political landscape has witnessed a significant development ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Governor Ademola Adeleke, former Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other political stakeholders have joined efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re election.
The development coincided with the inauguration of a 10,000 member door to door campaign team in Osogbo, alongside the unveiling of 30 campaign vehicles donated by Niger Delta businessman and political figure, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
The event, held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, brought together political leaders from different affiliations, including members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Accord Party and representatives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
The mobilisation initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots political engagement and expand support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke, Oyetola Rally Behind Tinubu
Governor Adeleke, who belongs to the Accord Party, was represented at the event by his deputy, Kola Adewusi.
Adewusi urged members of the Accord Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governor’s supporters to put aside political disagreements and work towards Tinubu’s re-election.
His remarks reinforced Adeleke’s previously declared willingness to support the President’s second term ambition, despite belonging to a different political party.
The governor’s involvement is particularly significant given Osun’s traditionally competitive political environment and the historical rivalry between political camps associated with Adeleke and Oyetola.
Oyetola, who previously governed Osun State and currently serves as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, also participated in the mobilisation initiative.
He challenged campaign coordinators to demonstrate sincerity, discipline and commitment, warning against political hypocrisy and complacency.
He urged the canvassers to approach their responsibilities with seriousness and ensure that their activities translated into meaningful grassroots engagement.
Tompolo Donates 30 Vehicles for Grassroots Mobilisation
A major highlight of the gathering was the presentation of 30 campaign vehicles donated by Tompolo to strengthen the PBAT Door to Door Movement’s operations in Osun State.
Representing Tompolo, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, announced that the vehicles were provided alongside public address equipment, including generators, speakers and amplifiers.
The equipment is expected to support campaign activities across communities and facilitate direct engagement with residents.
The PBAT Door to Door Movement, which has been expanding its operations across several Nigerian states, is focused on building grassroots structures to promote Tinubu’s re election through household visits, community outreach and voter mobilisation.
Its activities form part of a broader nationwide campaign strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
APC Targets Two Million Votes in Osun
Speaking at the inauguration, the movement’s National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, encouraged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process.
He also urged supporters to work towards delivering two million votes for President Tinubu from Osun State.
The target reflects the scale of political mobilisation being pursued by the movement and its supporters as political activities gather momentum ahead of the election.
However, achieving the proposed target will depend on the movement’s ability to translate its campaign structures into actual voter support across the state’s 30 local government areas.
A Significant Political Development Ahead of 2027
The growing cooperation between Adeleke and Oyetola’s political camps represents an interesting dimension of Osun’s evolving political landscape.
Although both politicians have historically operated from opposing political platforms, their participation in efforts to secure Tinubu’s re election demonstrates how national political interests can create temporary alliances across party boundaries.
Adeleke’s position as coordinator of Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Osun further illustrates the unusual political arrangement.
However, the cooperation does not necessarily indicate a merger of their political interests, particularly as both camps retain separate political identities and ambitions within the state.
The development also comes amid broader nationwide efforts by the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to establish campaign structures and distribute mobilisation resources across different states.
Tompolo has previously supported similar initiatives in Kano, Oyo, Ondo, Gombe and Imo states, among others, as the movement intensifies its preparations for the 2027 presidential contest.
For Tinubu’s supporters, the growing network of political alliances and grassroots mobilisation structures represents an opportunity to strengthen the President’s re election campaign.
Nevertheless, the ultimate test will be whether these political endorsements and mobilisation efforts translate into electoral support when Nigerians head to the polls.
