A political mobilisation group in Kaduna State has announced plans to mobilise 1.2 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, citing their administrations’ records in infrastructure, security, education and other areas of governance.
The Chairman of the Tinubu/Uba Sani Mobilisation Network, Dr. Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria, announced the target during a press conference in Kaduna . He said the group was supporting the re-election bids of both leaders to allow them to consolidate their policies and complete ongoing development projects.
According to Aminu-Zaria, the organisation’s electoral target was based on its internal assessment of the political environment and its mobilisation activities across the state. However, he did not provide independently verifiable figures or detailed methodology to substantiate the projection.
Aminu-Zaria identified infrastructure development, healthcare, security and public administration as areas in which he believed the Kaduna State Government had made progress under Uba Sani.
He also highlighted cooperation between the federal and state governments, arguing that support from the Tinubu administration had contributed to development initiatives in Kaduna State.
The mobilisation network chairman maintained that continuity in governance would provide additional time for both administrations to advance their programmes and complete projects already underway.
He specifically identified the Abuja-Kaduna road corridor as an important infrastructure priority because of its role in connecting Kaduna with the Federal Capital Territory and facilitating the movement of people and goods.
The group also cited education and agricultural interventions among the areas it believes should feature prominently in its mobilisation campaign ahead of the elections.
Security remains a significant issue in Kaduna State, where communities have faced challenges involving banditry, kidnappings and other forms of violence. Aminu-Zaria argued that efforts to address insecurity should combine security operations with dialogue, education and community development.
He also pointed to engagement with communities across religious and regional divides as an important consideration in assessing the state government’s performance.
The chairman maintained that improved relations between the government and different communities could contribute to public confidence in the administration. These assessments, however, represent the mobilisation group’s position and do not independently establish the extent of improvements in security or public trust.
The proposed 1.2 million-vote target represents the mobilisation network’s political objective rather than a verified forecast of the 2027 election results.
Whether the group can achieve its stated goal will depend on several factors, including voter preferences, campaign organisation, public assessments of government performance and the wider political environment ahead of the elections.
For both Tinubu and Uba Sani, the approaching election cycle will provide an opportunity for voters to assess their respective records, policies and commitments against the expectations of citizens.
As political mobilisation gathers momentum in Kaduna State, the group’s announcement highlights the growing efforts by supporters of the governing All Progressives Congress to consolidate their political base ahead of 2027.
Ultimately, the credibility of the 1.2 million-vote target will be determined by the ballots cast and the official results declared by the electoral authorities.
