The African Independent Television (AIT) has lost its Niger state correspondent, Mallam Mohammed Danladi Ibrahim to a ghastly motor accident on Thursday in Minna.
The late Danladi died on Thursday evening after his vehicle had a head in collusion with an over speeding Mercedes Benz car within Minna, the state capital. a
A statement by the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger state chapter signed by Chairman Mallam Mustapha Bina and Secretary Prince Dan Atori said the late AIT Correspondent died of complications from the accident.
According to the statement āWith total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announced with the sudden death of a dedicated, hardworking and gentle colleague, Muhammad Danladi Ibrahim who passed away after a ghastly motor accident on Thursday in Minna, the Niger state capitalā.
The late Danladi, it was gathered had just returned from an assignment at Lapai, the headquarters of lapai local government area of the state where he had gone to cover the formal declaration of intent by Alhaji Mahmoud Abdullahi, former Chief Press Secretary to late former Niger state governor Alhaji Abdulkadir Kure, to contest the House of Representatives for Agaie/Lapai Federal constituency before the accident occurred.
On his return from his very last Journalism assignment, the late Danladi was said to have gone to a private FM Radio station in Minna, where had parked his car and actually had his prayers at the station with some Muslim faithful at about 7:30 in the evening and died shortly after.
The correspondent chapel in the statement described the late Danladi as āa dedicated and pious Muslim who stood for what he believed in. We will surely miss him, especially his commitment to the union activities in the state who is passionate about the growth and development of our dear profession in all ramificationsā
Danladi who is married with four children has since been buried in Minna according to Islamic rite.
The statement prayed to God to grant his family and the media world the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
