1. President Muhammadu Buhari has stated on multiple occasions that he intends to hand over a Nigeria that is in a safer state when he leaves office. Yesterday in Abuja, in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, he provided assurance while speaking at the launch of the emblem appeal for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration that will take place in 2023.

2. On Tuesday, members of a family in the Maikatako community of the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State were shot to death by unknown assailants, resulting in the deaths of at least nine family members. According to the information that has been gathered, the assailants attacked the neighborhood during the night and began firing erratically, resulting in the deaths of nine people. It was confirmed by a member of the community that the incident took place around 9:30 in the morning when the villagers were getting ready for bed.

3. It has been reported that Israel Adesanya, a former champion of the middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, was arrested for bringing brass knuckles through security at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The 33-year-old boxer, who had just lost his title to Alex Pereira via technical knockout in New York City the previous Saturday, was arrested by Port Authority police on Wednesday in the American Airlines terminal.

4. The Nigerian Senate decided yesterday to offer legislative support for the new policy that will be implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to redesign the Nigerian Naira. In order to guarantee that Nigerians are adequately protected from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), banks, and any other organizations that are a part of the process, the Senate has given its Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions the mandate to engage in aggressive oversight.

5. On Wednesday, former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo welcomed the heads of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE). The expansion and improvement of the South-West region was a topic of conversation for the delegation, which was led by Chief Ajibade Oyekan.

6. On Thursday, the government of Ghana denied that it had issued a travel advisory to its citizens, advising them to avoid traveling to Abuja, which is the capital city of Nigeria. The name and logo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration are printed on a notice that has been going around since Wednesday evening. The statement was not authorized, according to a tweet sent out by the government first thing on Thursday morning.

7. Senator Bola Tinubu, who is running for president as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to allegations that he does not respect Christians by saying that these allegations are false. Tinubu dismissed those who described him as a religious bigot during an interactive session with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). He stated that the selection of Shettima had nothing to do with religion when he made his decision.

8. The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), located in Oshodi, Lagos, has announced the death of Brigadier-General Audu Ogbole James, who served as Director of Finance there. On Tuesday night at the barracks, a corporal named Abayomi Edun was responsible for the death of the General. The General’s body was crushed by Edun.

9. In accordance with the “No work, no pay” policy, the Federal Government has insisted that lecturers will not be compensated for work that has not been completed. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, in response to a question regarding the protest staged by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) regarding the pro-rata payment of October salaries.

10. Doyin Okupe, the Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, has stated that the analysis conducted by Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, on the chances of Obi in the 2023 elections made no sense. In an interview that took place on Tuesday on television, Okupe stated that Soludo’s remark about Obi was a joke. According to him, Soludo is not someone who can be trusted politically.
