NEW: Wike Speaks on Reconciliation in the PDP and Makes a Huge Revelation (JUST IN)

Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has stated once again that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) G-5 governors will only be open to reconciliation if it is based on equality, fairness, and justice. Wike made this statement during a recent press conference.

The statement was made by the governor of Rivers State during the opening of the Rumuepirikom Flyover, which is the eighth project that has been constructed and finished under his administration. On Wednesday, the project was officially kicked off by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who had previously served as governor of Edo State.

Governor Wike brought up the fact that, prior to the crisis inside the PDP, certain members of the party were praising him and the other G-5 governors. He stressed this point. He did, however, point out that the same people have turned around and called them names because they are demanding equity, fairness, and justice. He said that this is because they are wanting these things.

I have no doubt that those individuals who were a part of my party in the past are unable to discuss any topic without bringing up Wike. However, because I just mentioned that the appropriate action should be taken, let the agreement stand as is. Due to the fact that I stated it, you might now consider me an adversary. These were the types of folks that would praise me at any time of the day or night.

“But because we said, look, we had an agreement, do this, do that, and some people believe that they will not, and we said that it must be done.” “But because we said, look, we had an agreement, do this, do that.” We advocate equality, fairness, and justice in all that we do. That will be the message that the G-5 Governors spread moving forward. We have stated that we are not opposed to reconciliation, but that it must be founded on equity, fairness, and justice.

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has declared that politics is about interests, and residents of Rivers State need to be certain of what they stand to gain from any support they provide prior to the general elections in 2023.

“Interests are what drive politics today. You are required to explain to me what Rivers State’s interests are. You are required to inform me about the interests that my community holds. I will not collaborate with anyone who does not prioritize the well-being of my state. I will not provide my support to someone who has a negative opinion about my State.

Governor Wike underlined the significance of honesty in leadership at all levels, as well as the necessity for leaders to be held accountable for both what they say and do.

“There is nothing left to offer once integrity has been compromised; it can never be regained.” And this brings us to the issue that we are facing in this country, which is that politicians will stand up and make a statement.

“And then, people are watching you fulfill that statement, promise you have made, and when you don’t, Nigerians will now say that is how politicians behave.” “And then, people are watching you fulfill that statement, promise you have made.” That is something I cannot agree with.

“Although people have the right to act in such a manner, I will not act in such a manner. If I commit to doing something now, I will follow through. I am obligated to get back to you and explain why I am unable to carry out your request if there is any possibility that I will not do it. And that is what they mean when they talk about integrity.

He asked leaders from all sectors of Nigerian society to collaborate in order to bring the country’s citizens together. According to him, the anticipated unity must be predicated on the fact that one is a Nigerian rather than one’s nationality, religion, or party allegiance in order to achieve the desired results.

“What we need is a Nigeria of which each and every one of us can be proud. As a result, all that really interests us is the direction in which Nigeria will move forward. The means by which individuals will put food on their tables. It is neither about any particular ethnic group nor is it about any particular faith. It is not a question of which party will win but rather how Nigeria will advance. That is the position that we are in.”

Governor Wike expressed his dismay at the precarious conditions that the majority of people are compelled to live in, which regularly lead them to question their status as Nigerian citizens. He stated that it is unfair for some Nigerians to have an uneven posture over other Nigerians, as this feeling hinders unity and prosperity in the country.

In addition, the governor took use of the event to extend a public apology to Comrade Oshiomhole for some political insults that were made against him and the candidate for the governorship that he backed in the most recent election for the office of governor in Edo State.

“As you are aware, the reason I traveled all the way to Edo State was to make sure that your candidate did not win the election. I was almost in command, as I appeared on television almost every day to challenge you, and I predicted that you would not win; sure enough, you did not.

“That task has been completed, and all of us are aware of one another at this point. I want to say to my people that I am very sorry for what I have done, and I want you to know that with each mistake, you learn.”

Governor Wike made some remarks about the undertaking, during which he mentioned that some residents had expressed their sadness at the disruptions to their daily lives caused by the ongoing construction. Nevertheless, Governor Wike made the observation that people are relieved that their sacrifice was rewarded now that the Rumuepirikom flyover has been built and opened to traffic.

Julius Berger Nigeria PLC was given instructions by Governor Wike to return to the Rumuepirikom community and supervise the reconstruction of all of the roads in the surrounding area.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State who presided over the inauguration ceremony, noted with delight Governor Wike’s belief that in a democracy, while political parties are required to win elections, promises made to the people must be kept, and projects must be delivered as proof of governance. Governor Wike’s belief has been greeted with delight by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

“I believe that the people of Rivers should be proud since, on a regular basis, our people remark that prophets are not recognized where they come from. This city has undergone a remarkable makeover thanks to Governor Wike.

“So, sir, the fact is that I have not heard anyone who is able to state with some amount of certainty that Governor Wike, his own na mere talk. The reason for this is that I have not heard anyone who is in a position to say such a thing. You talk, you walk the talk.

“When we need the votes, I can’t come to this area and begin to honor you because politics prevents me from doing so. If I celebrate you like our President Buhari has celebrated you today, and you use the certificate to create the most potent campaign against my own party, then what can we say? If I celebrate you like our President Buhari has celebrated you now, then what can I say?

Comrade Oshiomhole, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, lauded Governor Wike for making a difference during his time in office as Governor of Rivers State. Comrade Oshiomhole served in that capacity from 2011 to 2015.

“The facts are exceedingly resistant to change. Consequently, I concur that even your harshest detractors will acknowledge that Governor Wike has made a difference in the state. You made a difference not only in terms of projects but even in your statement this afternoon, which I join you in saying. When I was governor of Edo State in Benin, I had the opportunity to say that it is impossible for a country to be governed by people who cannot be trusted, and you made the point that this is impossible.

When politicians make statements, make promises, or even make agreements, or even enact laws, and the laws are not to be obeyed by themselves but are to be obeyed by others, and when they default in their promise or standing, they say that is what politics is like for you, they say that is politics for you.

Dr. George-Kelly Dakorinama Alabo, the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, described the project as having a length of 820 meters, a width of 26.8 meters, two approach ramps of 110 meters each, a walkway measuring 600 millimeters on either side and a median measuring 600 millimeters.

He claimed that the flyover is constructed with long-lasting materials and that it will lessen the amount of traffic congestion, enhance the socioeconomic dynamics in the towns that will benefit from it, and increase the value of property in the area.
On November 16th, 2022 it will be.
