LEBARTY COMMUNITY HEALTH FOUNDATION LAUNCHED IN BENIN CITY

Benin City, the Edo state capital was agog when the Lebarty Community Health Foundation was launched amidst pomp and ceremony with distinguished sons and daughters of the state in attendance. The Founder, Dr. Nosa Aigbe Lebarty disclosed at the inauguration of the foundation that the foundation will focus more on caring for the poor rural dwellers.
According to him, “Our goal is to provide affordable health care to the needy in order to save one life at a time. We want to ensure that people see us as the change agent and they will follow what we are doing”.
Dr. Nosa Aigbe Lebarty, a family medicine specialist disclosed that the foundation will help pay the medical bills of poor rural dwellers in and around the communities.
Earlier, the Lebarty Medical Hospital with support from the foundation organized a free medical screening for the rural dwellers in the Aruogba Community of the state. More than one hundred persons were treated and free eye glasses with free drugs were given out, including food and drinks during the exercise
The community people which include the aged, women and children were happy and prayed for the founder, Dr. Nosa Aigbe Lebarty who promised them that, “the foundation will be doing the free medical treatment at least twice yearly”
Speaking at the foundation launch, the chairman of the ceremony, Prof. Augustine Orhue, a consultant obstetrician and Gynecologist said, “health care should not be left alone for an individual to manage. Health care is expensive and we ought to have a platform where everyone can have access to health care delivery services”.
The father of the day, Chief Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom said the foundation coming up at this time is very good, noting that, for the founder to decide to bring health care services closer to the people makes it a very good thing for Edo State.
Hon. Elizabeth Ativie, former speaker, Edo State House of Assembly who was a recipient of the Community Service Award from the foundation said that, “rural people formed the critical mass of the state’s health care, but expressed regrets that most rural people still can not have access to basic health care, adding that some illnesses that can be cured are still killing people in rural areas due to lack of awareness about such illnesses.”
She promised to partner with the foundation to ensure that the dreams of Dr. Nosa Aigbe Lebarty comes to pass.
Also, the Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Abdulfatah Enabulele stated that, reaching out to the people through affordable healthcare services is something that the society needs urgently.
According to him, “the problem we are having today is because of some selfish leaders that prefer to invest the county’s wealth abroad rather than in the country.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to some distinguished Nigerians who have given selfless services to the betterment of the society.
Others who received awards are Mr. Uyi Akpata, Managing Director of Lushville Hotel and suites, the Best Hospitality man of the year 2022 award, Barr. Jude Nosaigie, Best Entrepreneur of the year 2022 and Hon Valentine Asuen who got the Best Award for Youth Empowerment
