13 June 2023: Suspected kidnapper slumps and passes away while attempting to evade arrest A suspected kidnapper who was a member of a syndicate that kidnapped a 23-year-old Bauchi State University student passed away while attempting to evade arrest at a military checkpoint.

It was said that the deceased person and two others who kidnapped the student also stole a 2010 Toyota Camry, which they used to take the victim away.

However, when they arrived at a military checkpoint set up by members of the 133 Special Forces Battalion Battalion, which is based in Azare, which is in the Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi state, they were arrested right away.

In the mean time, the departed quickly gotten away at the location of the capture however unexpectedly drooped and was hurried to the Government Clinical Center, Azare where he was ensured dead by a clinical specialist.

These were made public in a media statement that the Police Public Relations Officer for the Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakil, made available to journalists working in the state on Tuesday.

Wakil, a Director of Police, said that two different suspects were given over to the Order by troops of the Extraordinary Powers Contingent.

He stated, ” In light of between organization cooperation towards supplementing the sacred orders of the Police as a lead Office in keeping up with the interior security, six suspects were given over to the Order by agents of 133 Unique Powers Brigade situated in Azare, Bauchi state.

“The suspects kidnapped a 23-year-old Bauchi State University Gadau student living at the Federal Low Cost of Azare town, Bauchi state, and whisked the victim away with a snatched Toyota Camry 2010 with Reg No. Kept), took their casualty quickly made a beeline for the Misau town course.

“The military personnel stationed at the checkpoint responded immediately to the distress call and, along with the suspects, intercepted the stolen vehicle.

“However, one of the suspects, Damilola James, male, of the Turum area of Bauchi, slumped while attempting to escape before reaching the checkpoint. He was taken to Federal Medical Center (FMC) Azare for immediate medical attention but certified dead by a medical doctor,” according to the report.

He stated that the exhibits found in the possession of the suspects are: Juju) consists of eight distinct mobile phones, knives, and various charms.

As per him, during additional Examination, every one of the suspects admitted to the wrongdoing, adding that a circumspect examination has initiated after which the suspects would be charged to court for indictment.

In a similar vein, the PPRO reported that members of the Command had detained Suleiman Samaila, a 32-year-old student at the Itas Gadau Campus of Bauchi State University, for causing a fellow student serious harm.

He said that a report accessible to the Order uncovered that on June 10, 2023, at around 5.15 pm, a misconception resulted among the understudies of Bauchi State College, Itas Gadau grounds during a cordial football match at the off-grounds football pitch.

“In the event, the aforementioned Suleiman Samaila attacked Safiyanu Adam Musa, a 23-year-old male student at the same institution studying biochemistry at the 200 level. Thus, the casualty supported a serious injury on his left hand.

“Endless supply of the report, a group of police officers visited the scene and passed the casualty on to the Government Clinical Center, Azare for clinical consideration. The casualty is recovering from the profound cut supported during the episode,” he said.
