In the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State, a three-man gang of masked kidnappers kidnapped a farmer named Ikanlu Jimoh along with a businesswoman named Mujidat Otefila and her daughter. The farmer was rescued by villagers, who gave the kidnappers a hot chase.

On Saturday, the operations took place in various Imeko-Afon LGA communities.

A source, who addressed our journalist, said the primary activity happened when the suspects snatched Jimoh who was establishing tomatoes on his homestead at Saparu town, in Isale Oha, Imeko-Afon.

“They covered their faces with masks and shot five times to scare other people farming with him (Jimoh),” the source stated.

However, the source said that the suspects left Jimoh after farmers and other villagers who were working close to the attack gave them a fast chase.

However, the same suspects reportedly kidnapped Mujidat Otefila, a businesswoman, and her unidentified daughter just a few hours after the farmer was saved.

Otefila was taken from her home in the Oju-Ilu Community Development Area, Isale, Imeko township, at the back of the Imeko Afon LGA secretariat, according to a local resident who spoke to our correspondent anonymously out of fear of being victimized.

When she (Otefila) was driving back from her shop, she was ambushed as she entered her compound. To open the house’s gate, one of her daughters got out of the car and walked down.

“The kidnappers suddenly emerged from their hiding place in the compound, descended on the woman, and forced the woman to drive to the community’s outskirts, where the vehicle and daughter were left.”

The incident occurred on Saturday around 9:50 p.m. They have called the family using the woman’s number and will speak with them later.

When contacted, Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the abandoned daughter and her mother had been rescued and that efforts were being made to rescue Otefila.

She stated, “We later found the victim (Jimoh) tied up where he was abandoned and he was rescued. The kidnappers fled when they heard the sounds of motorcycles used to chase them.”

“Yet, on the subsequent episode, I’m dependably educated that cops are following the ruffians. The vigilante and Amoteku are working together, despite a problem with the network.

We have so far rescued the infant who was traveling with her. Additionally, we have located the Toyota Corolla that the kidnappers took from her.On June 26, 2023, Ogun businesswoman is kidnapped by masked gunmen, and villagers save farmers.
