Flood: The government of the Delta orders residents of low-land riverine areas to relocate.

The Delta State Government, on Thursday gave a crisp admonition to occupants in marsh and flood-inclined regions to migrate to higher planes considering the looming flood, closely following the arrival of water from Cameroon’s Lagdo Dam into the Streams Niger and Benue.

This information was made available to Warri-based journalists in a statement that was signed by Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

As per the assertion, the state government was worried about the daily routines and property of residents experiencing in flood-inclined regions notwithstanding prior alerts from the Nigerian Hydrological Administrations Organization.

It noticed that the lead representative has endorsed the setting up of a 14-man Flood Debacle The executives Board headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, to alleviate the difficulties anticipated by the approaching flood.
