The police command has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage. The command’s operational unit and the fire service were able to bring the fire under control.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, assured that the command is committed to safeguarding lives and property in the state. The police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, cautioned that it is too early to determine the cause of the fire, which has been reported to be caused by an explosion of two petrol tankers.
The incident is the latest in a series of fire incidents at fuel stations in Nigeria, including a recent incident in Jigawa State where a fuel tanker exploded, causing chaos and destruction.
