The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Uche Franklin Onyekwere, a 47-year-old Brazil-based Nigerian businessman, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for concealing 1.6 kilograms of cocaine in his private parts and footwear. Onyekwere was intercepted on , after intelligence indicated he was carrying illicit drugs from Brazil
A full-body scan confirmed the concealment, and a subsequent search recovered the cocaine in three large wraps. During interrogation, Onyekwere admitted purchasing the drugs in Brazil to resell in Nigeria to raise capital for his business and fund his child’s naming ceremony.
Cannabis and Controlled Substances_: Large consignments were seized across six states, including 1,183 kilograms of Canadian Loud cannabis at Lagos’ Tincan seaport.
Pentazocine Ampoules_: 12,500 ampoules were recovered in Kano.
Skunk_: 473 kilograms were seized in Ondo State, and over 4,000 kilograms were eradicated from cannabis farms in Edo.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended the officers involved and urged continued efforts in drug supply and demand reduction. The agency also conducted educational programs nationwide to reinforce its War Against Drug Abuse
