The issue about the resumption of school has become a fundamental problem in the state, now the people dreaming about the way forward on resuming the school rooting.
Today the 1st of February 2021 schools are expected to resume in Edo State, both public and private schools.

According to the Edo State government, all measures have been put in place to adhere to strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines.
But there is uncertainty hovering around the resumption of public schools in Edo State as the Nigerian Union Of Teachers, NUT Edo State Chapter has commenced an indefinite strike against the State Government.

The NUT is demanding a ten-point request to be met by the State Government before they resume work.
The Edo state government on the other hand has warned all teachers to resume immediately as the Government has activated the no work no pay rule.

Na here the wahala dey oh, the populace is not impressed with the NUT over their double standard, according to respondents the Nigerian Union of Teachers on the eve of the Edo 2020 elections awarded Obaseki as the best-performing Teachers Friendly Governor.

The razzmatazz was unparalleled with a well-celebrated event at Abuja, they crowned Obaseki as the messiah of modern-day Education.
Money was spent on the celebrations and now just months later these same teachers are downing their tools against Obaseki.

The people have told the teachers to FEM all children must go back to school, shebi you told us Obaseki was the Alpha and Omega?
The fireworks between the masses and the teachers are intriguing even the opposition in the State, the APC and its fans are not in support of the teachers, many have simply said these teachers are blackmailers that they should please go and serve the best performing Governor.

Let us entertain you with THE Comment Session.

‘After presenting an award to the Governor of Edo State as the Best Governor, the leadership of Edo NUT can’t ignorantly forget how they decorated and positioned the Governor before Edo people that he has fixed all the problem bedeviling Educational Sector in Edo State.

Sequel to the above, I wish to join all lovers of Education to urge Edo Teachers to resume work on Monday, the 1st of February 2021 while shunning selfish directives from the leadership of Edo NUT.
Our Children Must Go Back To School’- As monitored on Whatsapp.

These NUT members dem well so? Abi na Ogun dey punish them? They wasted money they could have used to alleviate their miserable lives in celebrating the Governor as the best performing governor and now they are crying wolf, no way Obaseki is the best to have happened to us the NUT should hide their heads in shame.- As monitored on Facebook.

What a bunch of hypocrites, what has changed that these workers are crying more than the bereaved? They should please not distort the educational process of our kids, we say no to using our children to settle political squabbles” As monitored on Twitter.

So as you can see who is to blame for the impending strike? Obaseki or the NUT? your comments are very much welcome.
