The newly-promoted side Buruj Football Club has revealed that welfare package will attract good players to their team, Obaland Magazine learned.
Buruj explained that as they kick off NLO, Division One conquest he is expecting good players to join the team.
Following the official clearance by the NLO, Division one to Buruj Football Club hence making them eligible to participate in the upcoming new league season after acquiring FC Rock Kogi State slot, the Ikorodu based club is now ready to bring in a top crop of players as they begin their campaign.
As they are getting prepared for the NLO after several productive years in the academy, putting players together and people looking up to what the management has put in place, welfare structure, salary plan, bonuses, pre-season tour for players in Europe, Asia and probably Canada, this will in no doubt draw top quality players to the club.
The pre-season tour which is meant to expose players horizon in terms of high-quality equipment for training if eventually, they have the opportunity to move abroad, it won’t be new to them.
Despite the academy structure, they pay salaries for every competition played so going into NLO, the salary structure and package is the major interest of the management following communication with the CEO of the club, Waheed Salaudeen.
“The only thing we are working on as the date of March 7 has been given for the commencement of the season, is the salary package and what we have is enough to draw top talents, give player exposure for a European tour for pre-season with aim of promotion at the apex.”

“All our supporters right from the time we began as an academy are happy that we are now in the NLO, the support we are getting from home and abroad is still very much available, they can see the returns of their investment in football definitely they aren’t going back now,” he assuredly stated.

The Nigerian women's basketball team, D'Tigress, has advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women's AfroBasket with a dominating 83-47 victory over Cameroon. The six-time and defending champions will now face Senegal in the next stage of the competition. The quarterfinals match started with Cameroon taking an early lead, opening the game on a 4-0 run. However, Nigeria quickly responded, going up 7-4. The depth of Coach Rena Wakama's side soon overwhelmed the Cameroonian team, which appeared fatigued after a demanding late-night qualification clash against Angola. The Nigerian team dominated the game, showcasing their skill and experience. The team's depth and talent were too much for Cameroon to handle, leading to a convincing 36-point victory. D'Tigress will now face Senegal in the semifinals, looking to continue their impressive performance and make a strong bid for their seventh title. The team's next match will be a crucial test of their skills and determination.
