In a candid interview, the influencer opens up on trust, celebrity marriages, and building a family with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux

Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Priscilla Ojo has spoken candidly about her marriage to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, saying she trusts her husband to remain faithful despite the pressures and temptations that often come with life in the public eye.

Priscilla, daughter of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo, shared her thoughts during a recent appearance on the _WithChude_ interview series. The conversation offered a rare glimpse into how the couple navigates marriage, fame, and family less than a year after tying the knot and welcoming their first childPriscilla Ojo on Marriage to Juma Jux: “I Trust Him, but Faithfulness Comes Down to Discipline

Priscilla and Juma Jux’s relationship has played out largely in the public eye since they went official in late 2024. The couple held a series of wedding ceremonies that reflected both their cultural backgrounds and their growing influence as a power couple in East and West Africa.

Their first traditional Islamic wedding took place in Dar es Salaam in February 2025. This was followed by traditional and white wedding celebrations in Lagos in April 2025, attended by family, friends, and notable figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry. The celebrations concluded with a grand reception in Tanzania in May 2025.

In August 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Rakeem, in Canada. The birth marked a new chapter for the pair, who have been open about wanting to build a stable family life despite demanding careers.

During the _WithChude_ interview, Priscilla addressed one of the most common questions asked of celebrity couples: how do you deal with trust when your partner is constantly in the public eye and surrounded by attention?

She went on to explain that while she is aware of the attention Juma Jux receives from admirers, she believes that faithfulness in marriage is ultimately a personal choice rooted in discipline and self-control.

Priscilla acknowledged that celebrity marriages often face unique challenges, including constant scrutiny, rumors, and the presence of admirers who may try to insert themselves into the relationship. However, she emphasized that these external factors only matter if both partners allow them to.

“Of course, it’s not easy with women throwing themselves at him, but it’s his discipline and decision. Don’t get me wrong, some women go to any length, that also happens, but if you both are prayerful and your man is disciplined and knows what he wants, I feel he will be in charge,” she said.

Her comments reflect a perspective that shifts responsibility for fidelity away from external circumstances and toward personal accountability. It’s a view that has resonated with many of her followers, who have praised her maturity and calm approach to marriage.

Priscilla and Juma Jux’s union is also notable for bridging Nigerian and Tanzanian cultures. The couple has spoken in past interviews about how they navigate differences in language, tradition, and family expectations.

Their multi-stage wedding ceremonies were seen as a way of honoring both sides of their heritage. The Islamic traditional wedding in Tanzania allowed Juma Jux’s family and community to celebrate the union in a familiar cultural context, while the Lagos ceremonies gave Priscilla’s family and Nigerian fans the opportunity to participate.

Since welcoming their son Rakeem, the couple has shared occasional glimpses of family life on social media, often highlighting the balance they try to strike between work and parenting. Priscilla has continued to manage her brand and business ventures, while Juma Jux has maintained his music career, touring and releasing new material.

Celebrity marriages in Africa, as elsewhere, often face intense public interest. Every post, appearance, and comment can become fodder for speculation. Priscilla’s decision to speak openly about trust and discipline offers insight into how she and Juma Jux are trying to keep their relationship grounded.

She noted that prayer and shared values play a role in how they approach their marriage. For her, having a partner who is clear about his goals and committed to his family reduces the impact of external distractions.

Her stance also reflects a broader conversation happening among young African couples about modern marriage. Many are moving away from the idea that fidelity should be enforced through control or suspicion, and instead focusing on mutual respect, communication, and personal responsibility.

Since the interview aired, Priscilla’s comments have generated discussion online. Some fans have applauded her for speaking with honesty and avoiding the performative positivity that often characterizes celebrity interviews. Others have debated whether her approach is realistic in the face of fame and temptation

Relationship experts note that trust is a cornerstone of any marriage, but that it must be supported by consistent behavior and clear boundaries. In high-profile relationships, those boundaries often need to be reinforced more deliberately due to the increased exposure.

Priscilla’s emphasis on discipline aligns with this view. By framing faithfulness as a choice made by the individual, she places the focus on character rather than circumstance.

Nearly a year into their marriage and several months into parenthood, Priscilla and Juma Jux appear to be prioritizing stability and privacy where possible. While they remain active on social media, they have been selective about what aspects of their family life they share publicly.

For Priscilla, the priority seems to be building a home that can withstand the pressures of fame. Her comments suggest that she sees trust not as something to be demanded, but as something that is earned and maintained through consistent action.

As the couple continues to navigate life between Nigeria, Tanzania, and international engagements, their approach to marriage may offer a case study for other young couples in the public eye
