Mrs. Rachael Folawe Alamu, Principal of Community High School, Esiele in Oriire LGA, Oyo State, has appeared in a viral video from captivity denying reports that her abductors are demanding N1 billion, weapons, or the imposition of Sharia law.
Speaking 24 days after her abduction, Alamu said she and other captives were shown media reports claiming the kidnappers wanted money and Sharia in Nigeria, but insisted those reports are false
She stated that the only demand communicated by the abductors is the release of certain individuals in custody. Alamu appealed to Nigerians and authorities not to politicize the situation, and urged focus on securing the release of the victims. She also asked the public to help circulate her message, saying no ransom or religious conditions have been demanded.
