Adeleke, Wike, Soludo Named State Coordinators as APC Reshuffles Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, and Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State have been included in the expanded presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a report published by The cable on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Adeleke was appointed campaign coordinator for Osun State, Wike for Rivers State and the FCT, while Soludo will coordinate the party’s campaign in Anambra State.
The revised list is expected to be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
The appointments come despite differnces in the political affiliations of the three public officials. Wike is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Soludo was re elected in November 2025 on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), while Adeleke won his re-election in Osun State on August 16, 2026, under the Accord Party.
The APC initially released its presidential campaign council list on August 22, naming former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General.
Under the revised arrangement, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have been appointed deputy vice-chairmen I, II and III, respectively.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, who was previously listed as a deputy director-general, is now deputy director-general I for the North, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has been named deputy director-general II for the region.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu have been appointed deputy director-generals I and II for the South, respectively.
The revised list also names Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola as deputy national coordinator I for stakeholders’ mobilisation in the South West.
A notable feature of the expanded council is the designation of all 32 APC governors as campaign coordinators for their respective states. However, separate coordinators have been named for some states where the party’s governorship candidates will oversee campaign activities.
Sharafadeen Alli, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, was named coordinator for the state, while Mohammed Abubakar and Chijioke Chukwu were appointed coordinators for Bauchi and Abia states, respectively.
The new list also includes 14 advisers, among them former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Segun Osoba, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, former Cross River South Senator Florence Ita Giwa, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, former APC National Secretary Iyiola Omisore, and former Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun.
The expanded council is part of preparations for Tinubu’s second term bid in the 2027 presidential election.
According to the report, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) opened campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections on August 19, with the campaign period scheduled to end on January 14, 2027, under its revised timetable.
Other prominent figures expected to feature in the presidential contest include former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside Tinubu.
Adeleke’s appointment as Osun campaign coordinator is distinct from the national leadership of the APC presidential campaign council, which is headed by Yari as Director General.
