President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has received the Par-Excellence Award from the Arewa Revival Project (ARP) in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s democratic and legislative development.
The award was presented to Akpabio in Abuja by the organisation’s Project Coordinator, Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim, who said the recognition reflected the group’s commitment to celebrating public service and promoting national unity, peace and development.
Ibrahim also called for stronger collaboration among political leaders, community organisations and other stakeholders to address challenges facing Northern Nigeria, particularly those affecting young people.
Responding, Akpabio thanked the organisation for the honour, describing it as an encouragement to continue working towards Nigeria’s unity, stability and development.
The Senate President assured young people in Northern Nigeria of his commitment to supporting initiatives focused on education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, empowerment and economic inclusion.
He emphasised that young Nigerians needed meaningful opportunities to participate in national development, adding that investment in youth development was important for promoting peace, addressing insecurity and achieving sustainable progress.
Akpabio also called for sustained cooperation among the Federal Government, state governments, community leaders and youth organisations to expand opportunities for young people, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
He stressed that addressing the challenges confronting young people required coordinated efforts from government institutions and community stakeholders.
The Senate President also urged Nigerians, particularly stakeholders in Northern Nigeria, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s re-election bid.
Akpabio called for continued public engagement around the administration’s policies and programmes, arguing that sustained support would help advance its development agenda.
His appeal comes as political activities gradually build ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, in which Tinubu is expected to seek a second term.
The award presentation provided an opportunity for discussions on leadership, youth empowerment, national unity and the role of community organisations in addressing development challenges.
The Arewa Revival Project said the recognition was intended to encourage public service and strengthen cooperation towards a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio receives the Arewa Revival Project’s Par-Excellence Award and calls for greater youth empowerment and support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
