The All Progressives Congress (APC) held a North Central political rally at Lafia Square in Nasarawa State on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with party leaders, governors, government officials and supporters from across the region in attendance.
The rally, organised by the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network was to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Those in attendance included Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; and Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, who hosted the event.
Other participants included governors and representatives from Benue, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi and Niger states, alongside other political office holders, party stakeholders and supporters from across the North Central geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory.
In his welcome address, Governor Sule declared Nasarawa State’s support for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections. Governors from the region also expressed support for the President’s re-election bid during the gathering.
Speaking at the rally, the First Lady expressed hope that Nigeria’s current economic difficulties would ease. She also highlighted initiatives by the Tinubu administration in healthcare, road construction and education, including the student loan scheme.
