The Bauchi State chapter of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally rejected reported moves suggesting that Governor Bala Mohammed could be admitted into the party, deepening political tensions ahead of Nigeria’s evolving realignment season.

In a strongly worded position released after an internal caucus meeting, APC stakeholders in Bauchi State said any attempt to welcome the governor  currently a prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  would undermine party cohesion and disregard longstanding members.
