In a recent exchange on social media, Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy shared his perspective on marriage and subtly commented on his colleague Davido’s marital status. The conversation began when a user suggested that Burna Boy should follow Davido’s example and settle down soon. Burna Boy responded by expressing his preference to remain as he is and alluding to the challenges Davido is currently facing in his marriage.
The user, tweeting as #BadLieutenant, advised Burna Boy to start planning for his future by getting married and starting a family, citing Davido as an example. Burna Boy, in his response, expressed his desire to continue living life on his own terms and questioned if the user was aware of the difficulties Davido is currently experiencing in his relationship.
Another user, tweeting as #RealDreylo, playfully teased Burna Boy about his response. Burna Boy, in turn, asked if the user believed Davido’s marriage was a better example to follow. The conversation then shifted when a third user, #SunOfOba, asked if Adekunle Gold’s marriage was a better example. Burna Boy responded positively, indicating that Adekunle Gold’s marriage was something to aspire to.
It’s important to note that the exchange between Burna Boy and the users on social media reflects personal opinions and individual choices regarding marriage. Burna Boy’s response suggests that he values his independence and is not ready to conform to societal expectations regarding settling down. He also highlights the challenges that Davido is currently facing in his personal life, possibly indicating that marriage may not always be a smooth journey.
Davido, a popular Nigerian artist, is currently involved in a legal battle with his ex-partner, Sophia Momodu, over the custody of their daughter. Despite these challenges, Davido recently celebrated his marriage to his longtime partner, Chioma, in a lavish ceremony in Lagos.
The conversation sparked by Burna Boy’s comments is likely to generate discussions among fans and followers of both artists. The differing perspectives on marriage and individual choices will undoubtedly be a topic of interest and debate.
