Burna Boy emerges first African artiste to hit two billion streams in UK

Nigerian music star Burna Boy has made history as the first African artist to achieve two billion streams in the United Kingdom. The Grammy Award-winning artist was presented with a Brit Plaque during his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, in recognition of this remarkable feat.

This milestone comes just weeks after he received a Brit 1 billion streams plaque at another sold-out show at the London Stadium in June.

In a viral video capturing the moment Burna Boy received the Brit 2 billion streams plaque, he expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of fighting for what you believe in. He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.” When one of the presenters suggested that he already had the achievement and didn’t need to fight, Burna Boy responded, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”

Burna Boy, known for his hit album “Twice as Tall,” has been making waves with his electrifying performances across Europe and other parts of the world. He has been selling out major concerts and solidifying his status as the “Afrobeat Ambassador.” His global appeal and acceptance have been evident in the success of his shows and the recognition he has received.

This latest accomplishment further cements Burna Boy’s position as one of Africa’s most successful and influential music artists. His unique sound and powerful lyrics have resonated with audiences worldwide, earning him a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. As Burna Boy continues to make headlines and captivate audiences with his talent, the future looks bright for this African music icon.
