Court Sentences Three Men to Death by Hanging for Murder of Ogun FamilyThe Ogun State High Court has sentenced three men, Lekan Adekanbi, Ahmed Odetola, and Waheed Adeniyi, to death by hanging for the murder of a family of three in Abeokuta.
The victims, Mr. Kehinde Fatinoye, his wife, Mrs. Bukola Fatinoye, and their son, Oreoluwa, were killed on January 4 2025 at their Ibara GRA residence. The assailants, led by the family’s driver, Lekan Adekanbi, invaded the house at 2 am, tying up the hands of the two sons and throwing them into the Ogun River. While the adopted son survived, Oreoluwa did not.
The court found the three men guilty of the heinous crime, which included murder, arson, and attempted murder. The judge sentenced them to death by hanging, bringing closure to the case.
The murder had sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for justice for the family.
The court’s verdict has been welcomed as a step towards justice for the victims and their loved ones.
