In a shocking development, one of the domestic workers employed by Aribemchukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, has reportedly confessed to her involvement in the murder of the young woman. This revelation comes from a police source who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the investigation. The incident occurred at the victim’s residence in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos State, and has drawn significant attention given the family’s prominence.
According to reports, Aribemchukwu, affectionately known as Chuchu, was tragically killed in her home on the night of  2024. Her lifeless body was discovered the following morning outside the gate of her residence. Initial investigations revealed that the murder took place inside her room, contradicting attempts made by the suspects to mislead authorities into believing that she had been killed outside.Domestic Worker Confesses to the Murder of Justice Ajumogobia’s Daughter
The police have arrested three domestic employees who were present in the house at the time of the incident, including a house help, a security guard, and a driver. As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that the house help confessed during interrogation, stating, “We do am, na we do am,” which translates to acknowledging the crime committed. This confession was reportedly consistent with the physical evidence found at the scene.
The police source elaborated on the circumstances surrounding the murder, stating that after killing Aribemchukwu, the suspects attempted to clean the crime scene. However, their efforts were incomplete, as they overlooked some blood stains, likely due to the hurried nature of their actions during the night. The source indicated that the perpetrators dragged the victim’s body from her room to outside the gate in an attempt to stage the scene.
In addition to the confession, investigators believe that the suspects promptly collected and removed valuables from the victim’s home after the murder. It was noted that the domestic workers had only been employed in the household for about a week prior to the incident, raising questions about their motives and the dynamics within the household.
Aribemchukwu, prior to her untimely death, was a medical doctor who had recently married. The community is in shock over the tragic loss of such a young life, particularly given her family’s standing in society.
Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured the public that updates will be provided as new information becomes available. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and concern about safety, especially regarding domestic workers in private households.
As the investigation continues, the public remains hopeful that justice will be served for Aribemchukwu and her grieving family. The case underscores the urgent need for enhanced scrutiny and regulation of domestic employment practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals within their own homes.
