The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has approved promotions for civil servants and public servants in the state.
The approval was made known in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Establishment, Training and Manpower Services in Edo State, Mrs. F.A.O Edwards, for the Edo State Head of Service, Mr. Anthony Okungbowa.
According to the letter she released, she directed all Ministries and sub-Ministries are to forward the list of all eligible officers who are for promotions in 2021, to the office of the Head of Service.
She stated that the approval was to further strengthen the government’s commitment to the welfare of the workers in the state.
According to the letter the Edo State government directed that the list must contain the name, rank, grade level, date of birth, date of confirmation, date of present appointment, and retirement of the officers.
The circular read in part that: “All Accounting Officers are to with immediate effect ensure strict compliance with this directive”.
The circular, also directed that it must be treated as urgent. The circular was sent to the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, All Commissioners, and All Heads of Extra Ministerial Departments.
