Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly raping a 15-years-old girl.
The suspect identified as Gospel Victor, was arrested on January 13, 2025, at Ewhohimi town, Esan South East Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the suspect lured the minor (name withheld) into his room and forcefully had canal knowledge of her
The victim’s shouting however attracted neighbours to the place, who discovered that she was being raped by the suspect.
Following a formal report by the family of the victim, police operatives took her to the hospital for treatment of injury she sustained in her vagina.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, said the suspect would be charged to court at completion of investigation.
