Family requests equity as NDLEA men kill two in Lagos

The group of 22-year-old Gafaru Yusuf has been tossed into grieving after agents of the Public Medication Policing supposedly shot him and Emmanuel Olomowewe dead in the Idioro area of Mushin, Lagos State.

Talking with our reporter, Yusuf’s senior sister, Muhibah, while requesting equity for her sibling, said he was en route to purchase food at an area locally when a wanderer slug from the NDLEA agents killed him.

“My sibling as a rule helps my dad at his working environment in Lagos. However, yesterday (Wednesday), he didn’t go to work. From everything I was said, he was en route to purchase food around 9.40pm when we got the data that he got hit by a slug terminated by the NDLEA agents. We need equity,” Muhibah said.

“I can’t utter a word; allow me to give it (the telephone) to someone else that will converse with you,” she said.

An occupant, who gave his name essentially as Olasunkanmi, while deploring the turn of events, scrutinized the agents for shooting unpredictably in a neighborhood, adding that the shots hit Yusuf’s head and Olomowewe’s chest.

He noticed that the casualties passed on the spot, adding that individuals locally had been incensed by the turn of events.

Olasunkanmi said, “We are not saying the NDLEA shouldn’t take care of their business, however for what reason will its agents shoot at any rate in a local location? The NDLEA agents attacked a medication nook locally around 10pm and began holding onto illegal medications which is all together.

“The agents were around 50 and the greater part of them were outfitted. While some wore the organization’s uniform, some of them wearing relaxed wear. Individuals managing in the medication business were maddened by the strike and began taking steps to raise hell.

“However, the NDLEA agents began shooting to have their direction and stray projectiles hit two little fellows in the head and chest. The two of them kicked the bucket on the spot.”

Another occupant, who gave his name as Lukmon, said, “We are burnt out on the NDLEA’s issue in our area. For what reason will they be shooting imprudently in a private area? To work, it is normal that they would have an objective and they ought to have an arrangement for how they will capture the objective as opposed to shooting imprudently with the eventual result of killing two blameless people.

“It is inappropriate; they unexpectedly raged the region with firearms and began firing. Gafar Yusuf, 22, was killed on Imoru Road. We are now making plans to cover his body. We heard three individuals were killed during the attack yet what I can affirm to you for the present is the passing of two people.”

Video cuts possessing our reporter showed individuals running higgledy piggledy during the strike that made pressure locally.

In one of the video cuts, our journalist noticed occupants in the space crying tears as they encompassed the cadavers of the people in question.

Blood stains spouting out of their cadavers were noticeable out and about as individuals communicated displeasure regarding the misfortune.

Reached, the representative for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, said the agents raged the region to capture a medication nobleman, adding that a few suspects were captured and unlawful medications recuperated.

He said, “Our men on Wednesday night went to Mushin to capture the noble behind shipments of medications that have been coming from Ghana.

“After the capture of a portion of the needed suspects and recuperation of medications and their vehicles, our men went under assault from their young men who had locked all the leave doors locally and our officials needed to shield themselves to emerge from the area alive.”
