A father of nine, identified as Mr. Charles, tragically took his own life in the Jeddo community of Delta State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when Mr. Charles consumed insecticide at his home. He then went to his in-law’s residence in nearby Ugbokodo, where he passed away.
According to sources familiar with the event, Mr. Charles, a member of the Jeddo Community Vigilante, had recently been involved in a heated argument with his wife. He had reportedly pleaded with her not to leave him, but she refused.
While no suicide note was found, empty bottles of insecticide were discovered in his pockets. Attempts to reach the police for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
