The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $10,000 (approximately N14 million) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, a Nigerian national who has been on the run for over two decades.
Adediran is wanted for Violation of Conditions of Release, stemming from charges of Bank Fraud, Identification Document Fraud, and Credit Card Fraud. According to the FBI, Adediran allegedly entered a bank in Champaign, Illinois, in August 2001 and attempted to withdraw money using a deposited fraudulent check. He also allegedly used stolen personal information belonging to U.S. citizens to open bank and charge accounts.
Adediran fled the Central District of Illinois in late December 2001, just before his federal trial was scheduled to begin, violating the terms of his release and becoming a fugitive. A federal arrest warrant was issued against him on January 2, 2002, in the United States District Court, Central District of Illinois, Urbana.
The FBI is seeking information that can lead to Adediran’s arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is urged to come forward and can potentially receive the $10,000 reward
