BENIN CITY — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated Rt. Rev. Dr. Matthew Akhaze Okpebholo, JP, on the occasion of his 76th birthday, describing him as a distinguished servant of God whose life has been marked by selfless service, philanthropy, and community development.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, Governor Okpebholo praised the cleric’s decades-long contributions to education, healthcare, Christian ministry, and human capital development, noting that his impact has positively transformed thousands of lives across the state and beyond.
The governor described Bishop Okpebholo as a symbol of compassion, sacrifice, and purposeful leadership, whose dedication to empowering people and building enduring institutions continues to inspire hope and progress.
According to the governor, the bishop has consistently demonstrated a commitment to societal advancement through the establishment of schools, support for healthcare initiatives, community development projects, and spiritual guidance.
Governor Okpebholo also commended the cleric’s philanthropic efforts, particularly his recent donation of a Geriatric Centre to the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, describing the gesture as a reflection of his passion for improving healthcare delivery and giving back to society.
“Through your commitment to education, healthcare, Christian ministry, and community development, you have touched thousands of lives and built enduring institutions that continue to serve generations,” the governor stated.
