The Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, has donated six patrol vans to security agencies operating within the local government area as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots security.

The donation comes days after the council benefited from the distribution of 54 construction equipment by the Edo State Government under Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration.
Speaking to journalists after a closed-door meeting with security personnel, Iduseri described the donation of the six Toyota Sienna patrol vehicles as a practical demonstration of his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

He said improved mobility would enhance the operational effectiveness of security agencies in combating crime and maintaining law and order across Oredo LGA.

Hon. Razaq Bello Osagie commended Iduseri’s leadership, describing the gesture as a strategic investment in grassroots peace and stability. He also praised the state government’s development drive, noting that security and infrastructure remain central to sustainable growth.

The Deputy Corps Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, Richard Balogun, expressed appreciation for the donation, saying it would strengthen field operations. Similarly, the Special Adviser on Security to Oredo Local Government Council, Travis Otabor, described the gesture as timely and impactful.

Members of the Oredo Legislative Arm, led by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Reliance Okungbowa, also lauded the council chairman, commending his commitment to community safety.

The highlight of the event was the commissioning and formal handover of the six patrol vans.
Beneficiary divisions include Iyekogba Division, New Benin Division, Old Etete Division, Ugbor Division, and Vigilante Ogbe Sector 2.

Security agencies, vigilante groups and community leaders present at the event commended the council chairman for the intervention, expressing optimism that the vehicles would help curb insecurity within the local government area.
