Former World Medical Association President, Dr. Osahon Enabulele has urged Nigerians to take care of their health by visiting clinics for regular check ups to reap the dividends of their labour

Speaking on the topic, “the importance of RoutineĀ  medical checkups” during a Medical Outreach organized by the Dr. Osahon Enabulele FoundationĀ  for staff of the Independent Television, ITV and Radio, Iguosa, Dr. Osahon Enabulele said it is theirĀ  responsibility to take care of themselves.

While quoting Aristotle, the former Nigeria Medical Association Chairman in Edo State, Dr. Enabulele who is the Director-General of the Foundation maintained that an unexamined life is not worth living.

“This free Medical Outreach and health awareness lectures are part of our modest contributions to improve the health of staff of ITV and Radio and to promote healthy living,

“We have the responsibility to take care of ourselves to reap the dividends of our labour. The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation will be launched on the 29th of January in Benin City to reignite hope in Nigerians who have lost hope.

“The foundation is about reigniting hope and promoting leadership governance because we beleive that a good leadership must be committed to good health, education and general living of the people,” he noted.

According to him,” the foundation will galvanize the people towardsĀ  havingĀ  equitable health care and good accessible education, as well as to engender social change,”

The Managing Director of ITV and Radio, Engr. Elvis Obaseki who expressed appreciation to the Dr. Osahon Enabulele foundation for the Medical Outreach, appealed to the staff to priortize their health at all times.

“What we have learnt today is an eye opener for many of us on how we should take care of our health which includes how to brush our teeth.

“Today, I have learnt that I do not need a strong brush for my teeth. I also want to appeal to staff to always speak out to management when facing challenges and let us re-examine our life styles to meet upĀ  with the economic realities in the country today

Other speakers at the Medical Outreach include Prof. (Mrs) Joan Enabulele, theĀ  Chairperson, Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Dental Association who spoke on the importance of Oral healthcare and Dr.(Mrs.) Helen Oviasogie Eboreime who spoke on “Managing our Mental Health and Well-being.”

The Medical team of the Foundation attended to the staff who were very excited for the opportunity to be tested on their various medical needs and there were questions and answers during the exercise.

There was presentation of certificates to volunteers and resource persons by the foundation.
