By; Hon. Osayuki Edosa.

Hon. (Engr.) Esosa Iyawe is a politician that has demonstrated true representation in the 10th Assembly of the Federal House of Representatives for Oredo Federal Constituency. Not only has he done that but he has also brought development to his consistency thereby complementing the transformative agenda of President Bola Tinubu and that of the state led by His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The yearnings and aspirations of the down trodden has been the hallmark of his representation in the Green Chambers as he has vehemently kicked and moved against oppressive policies of commodity and service providers operating in the country.

Education is the fundamental foundation upon which a society’s well-being are built. In this regard, Hon. (Engr.) Esosa Iyawe has shown serious commitment to his constituents. The equipping of New Era college computer laboratory and procurement of WAEC forms for deserving students across the entire constituency is a testament to this fact. Renovation, remodelling and reconstruction of schools as well as distribution of educational materials have not also gone unnoticed.

In the area of empowerment, Hon. (Engr.) Esosa Iyawe believes that it’s better to teach one how to fish than giving fish. This was seen in his recent distribution of mini buses to members of his constituency to ease transportation and also help them fend for themselves.

The main business of a legislator is law-making outside constituency projects. In this regard, he has so far even as a first time successfully moved motions and initiated bills which includes;

1. National Public Asset Management Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2093) (Hon Esosa Iyawe) – First Reading.

This Bill seeks to establish the National Public Asset Management Agency to provide for the maintenance, preservation, and effective management of public buildings, federal roads, and other public assets to ensure their sustainability, safety, and utility for the benefit of all Nigerians.

2. National Skills Development and Empowerment Bill, 2025 (HB.2094) (Hon. Esosa Iyawe) – First Reading.

This Bill seeks to establish a framework for vocational training and skills development to empower Nigerian youths with employable skills, promote entrepreneurship, and mitigate the challenges of unemployment.

3. Federal Universities of Technology Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025(HB.2096) (Hon. Esosa Iyawe) – First Reading.

This Bill seeks to amend the Federal Universities of Technology Act, Cap. F24 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 to provide for the establishment of the Federal University of Technology, Benin to enhance capacity building, train skilled professionals, promote-research and innovation in technologies and promote technological education in Nigeria.

4. Examination Malpractices Act (Repeal and Enactment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2097) (Hon Esosa Iyawe) First Reading.

This Bill seeks to repeal the Examination Malpractice Act Cap. E15, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and enact the Examination Malpractices Act, 2025 to provide for non-custodial penalties, expand offences relating to the examination malpractices and prescribe adequate punishment for such offences.

5. Nigerian Ports Authority Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2111) (Hon Esosa Iyawe) – First Reading.

This Bill seeks to provide for the payment of all monies received by the Authority into the Federation Account in accordance with Section 162 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended); and for Related Matters.

As an engineer by profession, he has also embarked on road rehabilitation and reconstruction as well as attracting federal presence to his constituency and also engaged the sports community in different categories of challenges with the winners smiling home with cash prizes and sports equipments.

Medical equipments and drugs have also seen delivered to different health care centres across the federal constituency thereby helping to curb diseases and ailments.

With the above and many more still in the offing, Hon. (Engr.) Esosa Iyawe is truly a quintessential Representative and he has given his word that his constituents won’t regret having him as the Member Representing Oredo Federal Constituency in the Hollowed Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
