Gatti was forced to leave the field in the first half of Juventus’ 1-0 win over Genoa on Saturday, which marked interim coach Igor Tudor’s first match in charge following the sacking of Thiago Motta. Although Juventus did not provide a specific timeline for Gatti’s recovery, Italian media reports suggest that the 26-year-old defender is expected to be sidelined for approximately a month.
Gatti’s absence is a significant blow to Tudor, as Juventus is currently fifth in the Serie A standings, just one point and one place outside the Champions League positions with eight fixtures remaining in the season. The team’s upcoming match against Roma, who are on a seven-match winning streak in Serie A, will be a crucial test for Tudor and his squad.
Roma currently sits three points behind Juventus in sixth place, making the match a pivotal encounter in the battle for Champions League qualification. Juventus will need to adapt to Gatti’s absence and find a way to contain Roma’s in-form attack if they hope to secure a vital victory.
Gatti’s injury is an unfortunate setback for Juventus, but the team will need to rally together and find a way to overcome his absence in order to achieve their goals this season. With a crucial match against Roma looming, Juventus will be looking to bounce back from this injury setback and secure a vital win.
