The investment na part of efforts to make electricity reach more people, especially people wey dey stay for communities wey no get steady electricity from the national grid.

The solar mini grids go provide cleaner and more reliable electricity for homes, businesses, schools, health centres and other important places for the communities.

According to information from the investors, the project fit benefit almost 100,000 people across the two states.

The project go dey carried out by Maskh Nigeria Limited, one Nigerian company wey dey work for renewable energy, engineering, construction, electrification and procurement.

The investment dey under the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Energy Technology (DART) Programme, wey dey support development and deployment of renewable-energy projects for communities wey electricity access still dey low.

Caroline Eboumbou, wey be Chief Executive Officer of All On, talk say decentralised energy projects fit play big role for improving life and business activities for communities wey still dey struggle with electricity.

She explain say when communities get better electricity supply, small businesses fit work more efficiently, while schools, health facilities and other public services fit also operate better.

The solar mini grids fit also help reduce how much communities depend on traditional sources of energy, while giving them more dependable electricity for their everyday activities.

Ray Coyle, Chief Executive Officer of Energise Africa, say the project go bring social, economic and environmental benefits as clean and reliable electricity reach the 19 communities.

For their side, Maskh Nigeria Director of Operations, Qaim Mahmood, describe the project as an important step for the company.

He say the mini grids fit help businesses expand, improve essential services and create more economic opportunities for people inside the beneficiary communities.

Information from Energise Africa show say the 19 mini-grid sites dey part of a wider project wey get estimated budget of about $5.9 million.

The organisation say the mini grids go serve thousands of households, businesses and institutions, while construction dey expected to finish within 24 months after the financing don secure.

The investment dey come at a time wey Nigeria still dey face serious challenges for electricity supply, especially for rural and underserved communities.

Solar mini-grids don become one important option for communities wey conventional national grid connection fit cost plenty money or take long time to reach.

For Jigawa and Bauchi, the success of this project no go only depend on putting the solar equipment there. The important thing go also be whether the mini grids fit provide electricity wey reliable, affordable and sustainable for long time.

Maintenance, proper management, cost of electricity and whether the infrastructure fit continue working after installation go also determine how much benefit the communities go finally get.

With the $4 million investment, All On and Energise Africa dey make another move towards expanding renewable energy access for northern Nigeria, while the 19 beneficiary communities get opportunity to improve electricity access for homes, businesses and important public services.
