The rescue operation, conducted by the gallant troops of the Joint Task Force South South Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), involved a coordinated effort comprising troops from the Quick Response Force (QRF) of Headquarters OPDS, as well as units from the Land, Maritime, and Air Components. The operation resulted in the safe retrieval of the kidnapped victims, including a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a Navy rating.

Rear Admiral Okeke emphasized that the rescue mission also led to the apprehension of ten suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction incident. He stressed the commitment of the Joint Task Force to safeguarding the lives and property of residents in the Niger Delta region, reiterating that criminal elements will find no refuge as the troops are determined to root out unlawful activities and create a safe environment for all.

In his commendation to the troops involved in the rescue operation, Rear Admiral Okeke lauded their bravery and dedication in carrying out their duties. He further urged members of the public to collaborate with security agencies by providing relevant information on criminal activities within their communities, emphasizing the importance of community participation in maintaining security.

The successful rescue mission stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat crime and ensure the safety and well-being of citizens in the Niger Delta region. The Joint Task Force remains resolute in its commitment to upholding law and order, and will continue to pursue criminal elements to ensure peace and stability in the area.
