Kogi Security People Don Rescue 21 Kidnap Victims, And  15 NYSC Members dey  Among Dem.

Kogi State Government don praise joint security forces wey rescue 21 people wey kidnappers carry for Dekina Local Government Area for Kogi State.

Among di 21 people wey dem rescue, na 15 NYSC members dey inside. Di other six people na travellers wey kidnappers also carry for road.

Dem rescue all di victims on Monday, August 31, 2026, after soldiers from 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, join hand with Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), local hunters and vigilante groups for di operation.

Di victims na eight men and 13 women. According to security authorities, di NYSC members bin dey travel from Abuja go Bayelsa State when kidnappers attack dem along di Alloma Ejule Itobe road.

After security people receive correct information about di kidnapping, dem organise  joint operation for Egume and Ochaja forest areas. Di operation later lead dem reach where di kidnappers keep di victims, and security forces succeed for free all 21 people.

One male victim get bullet wound during di incident. Security people quickly carry am go hospital so doctors fit treat am.

Di rescue operation na joint effort between military, police, DSS and local security people. Security authorities say di operation show say when different security agencies work together and share correct information, dem fit respond faster to kidnapping cases.

Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, praise di security forces for their work. He say di successful rescue show di determination of government and security agencies to fight kidnapping and other criminal activities for di state.

Governor Usman Ododo also praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and di different security agencies for their efforts to strengthen security across di country.

Di governor thank di National Security Adviser, Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Police, Director General of DSS, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, plus local security operatives wey take part for di rescue.

Governor Ododo assure people for Kogi say his administration go continue to work together with security agencies and local security groups to protect people dem and property.

He also tell residents say make dem dey careful and make dem give security agencies correct information on time whenever dem notice anything suspicious.

Di latest rescue don bring relief to di victims, their families and di wider community, but e also show di serious security challenges wey travellers still dey face for some roads across North Central Nigeria.
