Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has condemned the killing of at least 162 people in Woro and Nuku communities of Kwara State, describing the incident as “barbaric” and “deeply disturbing”. Kwankwaso, a two-time former governor of Kano State, warned that terrorists must not be treated lightly or allowed to fester in any part of the country.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, Kwankwaso expressed his horror at the reported massacre, saying it was carried out by terrorist elements that must not be tolerated. He stressed that the Federal Government cannot afford to treat the growing security challenges lightly, warning that violent groups are expanding their operations into previously peaceful areas Kwara Massacre: Terrorists Must Not Be Treated Lightly, Says Kwankwaso

Kwankwaso called on the Federal Government to take firm and coordinated measures to address the security situation and prevent further loss of lives. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Kwara State, and the state government.

Former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki has also described the killings as a “national disaster”, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and direct security agencies to flush out the bandits from Kwara State and neighboring states
