I’m saddened to hear about the boat accident in Niger State. According to the report, a boat carrying approximately 100 passengers capsized while traveling from Dugga Mashaya in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State to Wara market in Kebbi State. The boat was carrying both people and goods such as grains and sugar cane. The exact number of casualties and survivors is still unclear, but search and rescue operations are currently underway.
The Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Abdullahi Arah, assured that efforts are being made to locate and rescue the missing passengers. This is not the first boat accident in the region, as a similar incident occurred in .
