According to the Commander of the NDLEA in Jigawa State, Musa Maina, the drugs were tracked and confiscated in Gumel, and three suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure. The suspects, identified as Jamilu Muhammad, Abba Ibrahim, and Shuaibu Umar, were arrested while transporting the drugs to various centers across Jigawa, Yobe, Bauchi, and Niger Republic.
The NDLEA commander revealed that the seized drugs include 118.6 tons of Tramadol tablets and 195.3 kg of Pregabalin Capsules, among others. Two vehicles, a Toyota Sienna and an 18-seater Hummer bus, both loaded with drugs, were also impounded.
Maina described the seizure as the agency’s biggest achievement in combating drug trafficking in the state, highlighting the importance of intelligence gathering in the successful operation. He assured that the NDLEA would continue to work tirelessly
