NDLEA Targets International Cocaine Network, Arrests Social Media Influencer KC Luxury in Lagos.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its crackdown on international drug trafficking networks in Lagos, following an operation reportedly linked to the arrest of social media influencer KC Luxury and the seizure of 184.50 kilograms of cocaine.

The development forms part of the agency’s wider intelligence led efforts to disrupt organized narcotics trafficking networks operating through Nigeria and international routes. The NDLEA  has repeatedly said its operations are focused not only on intercepting illicit drugs but also on identifying and dismantling the networks, financiers and kingpins behind trafficking operations.

According to the information provided for this report, the latest operation involved the seizure of the 184.50kg cocaine consignment and the arrest of KC Luxury. However, at the time of publication, publicly accessible reports from major Nigerian media outlets and the NDLEA   website could not independently verify the specific details of the 184.50kg seizure or the identity of KC Luxury in connection with this particular operation.

That distinction is important because the NDLEA has recorded several major cocaine seizures and cartel arrests in Lagos in recent years. In December 2024, for instance, the agency announced the conviction of four drug kingpins connected to the seizure of 2,139.55kg of cocaine at an estate in Ikorodu, Lagos, in what it described as the largest single cocaine seizure in the history of Nigeria’s anti-narcotics operations at the time.

The agency has also continued to uncover international trafficking networks using Lagos as a major transit point. In September 2025, The Guardian reported that NDLEA operatives dismantled an international organized criminal group allegedly operating across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. The operation followed the interception of 17.9kg of cocaine concealed in textile materials destined for Sydney, Australia, and resulted in the arrest of three suspected cartel leaders.

More recently, the NDLEA has reported a series of cocaine interceptions involving international destinations. In July 2026, the agency announced operations across Lagos and other parts of Nigeria involving cocaine, cannabis and opioids, including an alleged attempt to export cocaine to the United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. P.M. News also reported the development, citing NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi.

The repeated interceptions underline the strategic importance of Lagos in Nigeria’s fight against transnational drug trafficking. The city hosts the country’s busiest international air and maritime gateways, making intelligence gathering, cargo screening and coordinated enforcement crucial to preventing illicit substances from entering or leaving the country.

For KC Luxury, any allegation of involvement in cocaine trafficking remains a matter for investigation and, where applicable, judicial determination. An arrest does not constitute a conviction, and the suspect is entitled to due process under Nigerian law.

The latest reported development nevertheless highlights the continuing challenge posed by sophisticated drug trafficking organisations and the NDLEA’s expanding focus on dismantling the networks that facilitate the movement of cocaine across Nigeria and international markets.
